Well done for your bus adventure. I love Crete and you brought it alive with your pictures and words. It still always amazes me how, when the produce is good, you don't need much extra flavour. It changes the way I make meals when abroad.
Oh thank you, that was marvellous! The colour of those pomegranates! I wonder if those asklimbros thistles are like the tagarninas you get in the Cádiz area of Spain (maybe elsewhere too, but that’s the only place I have seen them. Cádiz has a lovely little market.)
I love reading about markets in other places. If I can't be there myself, this is next best--thank you. And what you created with the courgette flowers is mouthwatering! I always buy them when I see them here (Philly--US) in season (late Spring early Summer) and I always fail miserably at trying to cook them. But I won't give up and, next year, will try to imitate what you did.

Thank you Melissa We need the same mindset and produce when we're home too!
Oh yes, wouldn't it be lovely to have tomatoes full of flavour in the summer!

I bet @Elizabethluard would know
Spectacular photography and a delight to read.
Many thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it

Thank you very much for your lovely comments.
So jealous of the live snails. Have been trying to source them in the UK but so far no joy!
Would Dorset Snails be able to help you out?
