Thank you. Lots of fascinating history here and it is inspiring me to discover more .. and to go back to Ventimiglia and Menton to visit some more of the gardens we missed .

Lovely post. The citron or etrog is part of the Jewish tradition of Sukkot, imported by all families celebrating in the US and Europe yearly. It represents the "heart" and the marriage of good learning and good deeds at harvest season. Their perfume is divine.

I really enjoyed reading this especially as I am probably going to Todeli later this month. I will report back. Great to know that you can buy a box to be delivered to the UK. The citrus event at Toklas sounds great but I won't be around for it unfortunately. I hope you get to go Cheryl. A beautifully written post. I love blood oranges with a burrata, anchovy and ideally puntarelle salad.

Thank you so much. I learned a lot more about the citrus fruits. My grandmother was from San Mango sul Calore. It use to be filled with lemons 🍋. Looking forward to reading more of your posts. 🌺🌺

So much knowledge in here, it has made me excited to try new citrus fruits. I have heard a lot about lemons that have a high sugar content but didn't realise you could get them there.
